What is a

Health Coach?

I am a Master of Habit Change.
If you have been told by a doctor that you need to make a lifestyle change: I can help you navigate what that change looks like; building together simple action steps within a sustainable framework for inevitable success.
Perhaps you have been struggling with those few extra pounds that keep coming back, or have never left! We will explore and experiment to find the right foods for your body type to fuel your body for optimal health. 
There is no limit to what we can work on and achieve for your personal health and happiness! 


My name is Heather Hanaman (Lee). 

I have been a student and instructor for a local Martial Arts Academy since 2007. It was teaching students; especially the youngest classes, that ignited my passion to help people discover and attain their own personal goals. Working with families and children on their journey of self-discovery and growth has been truly amazing. Because of these experiences, teaching will always be a part of my life!

I have three children, the youngest two have both been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.). In 2015, when going through a divorce, my youngest really started to struggle with significant behavior issues at school. Increasing his medication was not something I wanted to do, and I was looking for something else to help. 

I was advised to put him on a gluten free diet (Gluten is a topic I highly recommend EVERY ONE to look into!). He made drastic improvements in that year, going from over 50 majors and minors to 17 the following school year.


Because of my involvement in martial arts with a very active lifestyle, I thought I was a pretty healthy individual. I soon learned through my research into the effects of gluten on the human body how much I did not know. This learning process ignited a fire in me! I was driven to learn everything I could about nutrition. There was so much about health and nutrition that I did not know! My mission was now to apply what I was learning for my family in a way that would not cause a revolt.

About this time, I also decided I needed a career change. My "day job" was no longer fulfilling and, more often than not, quite frustrating. I found HCI in October of 2016 and mulled it over, until finally gaining the courage to pull the trigger for my own transformation in October of 2018. This was the best decision I could have made. HCI provides a system of specific tools to facilitate habit changes necessary to live my life to the highest potential imaginable; paired with the knowledge gained over the last couple of years, I am able to help others do the same. 

Health Coaching and teaching is where I am meant to be. This is what I am meant to do on this planet. I am so excited to sit down with individuals just like me who want the best for their families; more energy for themselves... to live the life you were always meant to. To learn to THRIVE....
